Long-term exposure: Radium is radioactive. The body treats it like calcium, so it deposits in bone, and long-term exposure raises bone cancer risk.
Northern Illinois sits on a deep sandstone aquifer that is naturally radioactive. The radium comes up with the water. The federal limit of 5 picocuries per liter was set in 1976 and has not been revisited since.

Not a trial and not a coupon. Salt top ups, filter and cartridge changes, a full system check, and a follow up water test about a year in, so we can show you on paper that the thing did what we said it would. That is a year of peace of mind you are not paying extra for. A service plan does not start until year two, you can decline it then, and declining it does not touch your warranty.
Start on a lower rung and add to it later.
Every package goes in with isolation valves and a full bypass around each stage. That is the boring part nobody advertises and it is the reason this matters: adding a stage later is a couple of hours of plumbing, not a rebuild. Nothing you already paid for gets torn out or thrown away. If the number today is the problem, buy the rung you can buy and grow into the rest.
Every package includes the work itself. The licensed plumber, permits where required, full isolation valves and a bypass, and testing at handoff. Lifetime warranty on tanks, 10 years on valves, 2 years on labor.
