Radium. Arsenic. Forever chemicals. All legal. · Whole-home water filtration, Sauk Valley IL

Your water is legal.
That is not the same as clean.

Your tap water passes every federal test, and still carries radium, arsenic, and forever chemicals at levels today's researchers flag as unsafe, because the limits were written in 1976. We pulled the public records for all 43 Sauk Valley towns: 340 readings above independent health guidelines. Yours is in there.

Or call (815) 420-4731 and you get the owner directly. 15 minutes, straight answers, nobody comes to your house.

Every price includes installation by a licensed Illinois plumbing contractor, hauling the old equipment away, the first year of care, and the warranty: lifetime on tanks, 10 years on valves, 2 years on labor. Your town decides which contaminants we target, not what it costs.

The Clean-On-Paper Guarantee. We test your water before and after the install, in front of you, with a certified kit. If the after numbers do not clear every contaminant we promised for your package, you do not pay the balance until they do. You keep the readings either way.

Rather pay monthly? Check your financing rate in 60 seconds through our partner network of national lenders. Checking your rate does not affect your credit score, the lender funds the project, and we schedule your install the day you are approved.

The question worth asking

How do we find 340 readings above independent health guidelines, without a single federal violation?

Nobody is lying to you. The legal limit and the current science are two different clocks, and the legal one runs slow. A utility can be perfectly, honestly in compliance while the water carries levels today's researchers flag as unsafe, because updating a federal drinking water standard takes decades and the research does not wait for it. That is why we publish both numbers side by side, and why every Liberty build is designed against the current science instead of the older rulebook.

The dates, if you want to check the clock yourself

The federal radium limit was set in 1976, when gas ran 59 cents a gallon. The trihalomethane limit dates to 1998. Arsenic was last tightened in 2001. The first federal limits for PFAS arrived in 2024, roughly seventy years after those compounds went into ordinary consumer products.

None of that is any one person's fault. Rulemaking runs on review, comment, and litigation, and it is slow by design. The health research runs on its own schedule. Both of those things are true, and both of them are still true at your tap this morning.

What actually changes

Four things you notice, and one you never will

Nobody wants a water system. People want the house that comes with one. Here is what actually changes, roughly in the order you notice it.

Week one, the shower

Soap rinses off instead of sitting on you. Hair dries soft. The film on the glass door that came back every Saturday no matter what you sprayed on it stops forming, because the mineral making it is gone before the water ever reaches the bathroom.

Week two, the kitchen

Glasses come out of the dishwasher clear instead of clouded. Coffee tastes like the beans you paid for. The kettle stops growing a crust. And you start using less detergent, because soft water lets soap do the job it was designed to do instead of fighting the water first.

Month six, the machines

Scale is why a dishwasher starts leaving grit, why a washer works harder every cycle, and why faucet aerators clog and shower heads spit sideways. Soft water does not lay the deposit down in the first place, so the machines you already own keep running the way they ran the week you bought them.

The one you never notice

Radium, arsenic, disinfection byproducts, forever chemicals. Not one of them has a taste or a smell, which is exactly why they are still in there. They are on the public record for your town, and they come out at the same time everything above does.

What those four contaminants are, if you want the chemistry

Radium. A naturally radioactive metal that seeps into deep wells from the bedrock. Long term exposure raises bone cancer risk. It has no taste or smell, and it is in 31 of the 39 systems we analyzed. The baseline softener treats it through EPA recognized ion exchange.

Arsenic. Occurs naturally in the rock our aquifers sit in. Years of exposure are linked to skin, bladder, and lung cancers. Undetectable without a lab, and above health guidelines in 24 of 39 systems here. Reverse osmosis at the drinking tap is the certified answer.

Disinfection byproducts. Formed when the chlorine that keeps city water safe reacts with organic matter on the way to your house. Long term elevated exposure is associated with increased bladder cancer risk. Flagged in 38 of 39 systems, which is why carbon filtration is on almost every build.

PFAS, the forever chemicals. Man made compounds from non stick coatings and firefighting foam that never break down, in the environment or in you. Linked to immune effects, cholesterol changes, and some cancers; federal limits only arrived in 2024. Found above guidelines in Freeport and Mount Morris. Reverse osmosis removes them.

The installs that started this company

Before Liberty Water had a name, it had customers.

The owner of this company installed water systems in Sauk Valley rental homes he manages for years before opening this company to the public. The equipment ran, the water changed, and the people living with those systems said so. Liberty Water exists because of results like these.

“Our water was staining our toilet and shower brown. I felt uncomfortable drinking the water. Liberty installed a whole home water softener with a sediment filter and our water quality changed immediately. Our water is now soft to the touch and the staining is completely gone.”

Hailey · Rochelle

Softener and sediment filter

“My water was very hard and it was clogging up my fixtures. I was surprised what soft water feels like. I had no idea how different fresh, soft water would feel on my skin. It also helped remove some iron from my water.”

Max · Dixon

Water softener

“The water at my cabin was literally orange. Liberty installed a water filtration system and removed all sediment. The water is iron free and perfectly soft now.”

Nancy · Dixon

Quotes from installs done in homes the owner manages, before Liberty Water opened to the public. Used with permission. Every future review will be a real customer, unpaid, on our public Google profile where we cannot edit it.

We are new, and we are not pretending otherwise.

Liberty Water opened to the public in 2026. That means no wall of logos yet. It also means the owner answers the phone, your install gets obsessive attention because your review IS our marketing, and every claim on this site links to a public record you can check without trusting us at all.

Founding customers, first 10 installs: $500 off Gold and up for our first ten public installs, in exchange for letting us photograph the before and after and asking you, once, for an honest review wherever you want to leave it. Say anything you want in it. 10 of 10 remaining.

The part nobody tells you

Anybody can install a system. We are the number you call when it needs something.

Every filter has a service life. A UV lamp dims months before it dies, and an empty brine tank means the hard water already came back and nobody noticed. Equipment only protects your family while somebody is watching it.

That is why the first year of care is included with every install: salt checks, cartridge changes, a six month system audit with the meter on the counter, and a phone number that rings the owner of the company. After year one, an optional care plan keeps it that way.

A whole-house treatment train: softener, carbon tank, pressure tank and the copper finishing stage
Every stage on isolation valves and a bypass, with the first year of care in the price.
The process

Free report. One call. One price. One licensed plumber, once.

No appointment at your kitchen table, no demonstration kit on your counter, no number that moves after you flinch. The price is on this site before you ever speak to us, half of it schedules the install, and the other half is charged on the day the work is finished.

A water test beside the written report
The report is free, and every number in it links back to the public record.

See what's in your water first. Decide second.

The report is free, the call is 15 minutes, and nobody ever comes to your house to sell you. One licensed crew. A limited number of installs each month.
